Safeguarding

If you have safeguarding concerns yourself, or about any other Fairlands pupil, please email safeguarding@fairlandsmiddleschool.co.uk.

If you are worried about any Fairlands pupil, please make an appointment to see the Designated Safeguarding Lead or one of our Deputies. Alternatively, for any child you are concerned about, you can phone the NSPCC on 0808 800 5000 or Somerset Direct on 0300 123 2224.

The Safeguarding Governor  can be contacted through Debbie Andrews, Clerk to the Governors, by emailing dandrews@fairlandsmiddleschool.co.uk.

Fairlands Middle School takes our responsibility for safeguarding pupils extremely seriously. It is the duty of all adults working on our site to promote our pupils’ welfare, safety, health and guidance at all times by fostering an open, honest, caring and supportive environment. We recognise that high self esteem, confidence, supportive friends and clear lines of communication with a trusted adult helps all children to share any concerns that they may have with us.

All staff, both teaching and non-teaching, have successfully completed the necessary checks and clearances to enable them to work with children. We also have additional specific training provided for key staff to enable them to lead the work in this area for us.
